When Rome-based interior designer Aleksandra Badura couldn’t find the perfect leather bag she wanted, she sketched it out—three compartments and two semi-circular straps—and commissioned a local custom bag-maker to make it for her. Within weeks of wearing it around, a client of hers asked if she could have one too. Badura realized her designs could become a successful business, and her eponymous brand was born, launching in 2013. Today, shoppers at the appointment-only Milan showroom can browse a selection of pieces, or commission their own. (Badura’s atelier and in-house lab, where she works with master Italian artisans to create entirely hand-made bags and accessories, are in Rome.) Items are available in various leathers and suedes—ostrich, python, goat, eel, alligator and calfskin are all on offer—and colors, allowing for full customization and one-of-a-kind, eye-catching products. By appointment only.
