This pleasingly aesthetic brand with its retro packaging and gorgeous colors (the jacaranda line gets top marks for sense of place, as Lisbon in May is all about the jacaranda trees) offers affordable skincare with years of know-how. Started in 1925, it was a favorite of the last queen of Portugal, after whom the Rose Amélie line is named. Shops are a relatively recent chapter in its existence but a real pleasure to visit, especially this large one at Campo das Cebolas.
