Snow Peak

Selling perhaps the world’s most elegant camping gear, the Tokyo-based Snow Peak opened its first U.S. store in Portland in 2013. Located in an airy store with cement floors and exposed-brick walls, the self-dubbed “outdoor lifestyle creator” stocks tents, titanium cups, cookware including Portland-made Finex skillets and apparel for men and women. With such items as beautiful active wear and packaged meals like herb mushroom risotto, even city dwellers might be convinced to foray out for a weekend in the great outdoors after shopping here.
