Tender Loving Empire

Adored by locals and Portlandia star Carrie Brownstein, who called it a “dream boutique,” Tender Loving Empire is both a record label and a store. The music side of the business supports mostly indie rock bands and local musicians, whereas the boutique sells the label’s records as well as an eclectic variety of goods, including such whimsical items as bottled “genuine Portland rain.” Among the other handicraft on sale are baby clothes, pet accessories, jewelry, cosmetics and housewares.
