Member Stories“Where to begin? As a wine enthusiast—not to mention my love of food—having red-carpet access to the Harlan Estate vineyards was far beyond what I anticipated. It blew me away—and the kick-off at The Restaurant at Meadowood was the finest meal I have ever experienced. My hat is off to you...what a weekend!”JOURNEY ATTENDEE, NAPA VALLEY WITH WSJ. MAGAZINE 2019
Member Stories“We had an absolutely amazing trip! Melissa and Howie were the perfect hosts. The two of them seem to have struck the ideal balance of creating a trip which felt professional and perfectly curated…but at the same time, relaxed and even spontaneous at times. What a high bar you have set!”JOURNEY ATTENDEE, NAPA VALLEY WITH WSJ. MAGAZINE 2019
Member Stories“It was one of my all-time favorite trips. I am over-the-moon filled with joy and sheer happiness from all of the experiences and marvelous people I met—and Melissa is nothing short of top-notch.”JOURNEY ATTENDEE, MILAN WITH WSJ. MAGAZINE 2019
Melissa Biggs Bradley, Founder and CEO of Indagare“For one week in April—the Salone del Mobile—interior designers, fashion lovers, curators and collectors from all over the world descend upon the city. The atmosphere resembles a street party, with a love of beauty and innovation as the central theme. On private visits, we discovered traditional treasures like Leonardo da Vinci’s The Last Supper; rarely accessed chambers of the Duomo and a dinner in the dining room of the Villa Necchi Campiglio (which provided the set for Luca Guadagnino’s film I Am Love, among other things); pop-up parties and exhibitions like those of Anton Alvarez and Carlo Massoud inside neighborhood churches, as well as the newest contributions to the city’s cultural scene. In Milan, today’s tastemakers honor those who paved the way.”
Howie Kahn, Contributing Editor, WSJ. Magazine“I loved visiting Napa with Melissa and our Indagare group. Not only did we drink amazing wine, eat inspiring food and hear incredible stories from the valley's most compelling and innovative families—all with an unprecedented degree of access—we also had our own days-long conversation. The openness, intelligence, curiosity and enthusiasm of our group felt both uplifting and grounding. It was the kind of group travel that inevitably moved each of us, as our shared experience opened the door for us to truly connect with one another, generating something much stronger than a happy memory: We're now part of one another's lives. I'm excited to meet future WSJ. Magazine x Indagare groups all over the world. I’m already making plans.”
Sarah Medford, Contributing Editor, WSJ. Magazine“Milan is a legendary design city, constantly reinventing itself while holding on to a glorious past. Our inaugural WSJ. Magazine x Indagare trip brought all its layers to life: We visited the private homes of influential designers like Gabriella Crespi and the Missoni family, spent one-on-one time with Leonardo’s Last Supper and shared an unforgettable candlelit meal at the Villa Necchi Campiglio—making new friends in what has to be the city’s most stylish setting.”
Kristina O’Neill, Editor in Chief, WSJ. Magazine“Last year's WSJ. Magazine x Indagare trip to Milan revealed other dimensions of a city that I've been traveling to for many years in my role as an editor who oversees coverage of fashion, design, architecture and food. There are many layers to this historic metropolis, and the experiences we were able to curate—behind-the-scenes access to creative talents and magnificent spaces at the heart of this thriving culture—were made even more special by the wonderful attendees who joined us.”
