Valldal

Valldal

One of the most beautiful areas in Norway, Valldal is a valley that runs from a small fjord-side town to Trollstigen. Surrounded by alpine mountains, Valldal has a mild climate and is famous for its strawberries, which are in season from mid-June to the end of August. Travelers passing through en route to Trollstigen or Geirangerfjord will want to stop at Jordbærstova (47-70-25-76-58), a charming café that is highly regarded for its strawberry cake. Those who wish to stay in Valldal for an activity or two have lots to choose from; a river runs through the valley and is great for white-water rafting, cliff jumping and swimming. The Juvet Landscape Hotel is located here, and is a great home base for exploring Valldal more thoroughly. Contact Indagare to arrange guided tours or hikes.
