Coco Bistro
Considered by most to be the best restaurant on the island, Coco Bistro is known for its fresh local cuisine, excellent cocktails and idyllic setting in a palm grove. The portions are large, so beware of over-ordering. If you catch sight of a grey cat, don’t be alarmed, that is Coco and she’s spent every night at the restaurant for the past seven years.
Da Conch Shack
From cab driver to resort manager, everyone on the island raves about the Conch Shack, a pastel-colored open-air restaurant right on the water, in the Blue Hills neighborhood. It’s the place to try TCI’s ubiquitous seafood, which is reminiscent of calamari and can be chewy if not prepared well. At Conch Shack it comes fresh from the sea and is made on the spot and served fried, grilled, raw or as a ceviche. Check the schedule for live music and DJ events. It’s a great place to soak up the local vibe.
Grace’s Cottage
The old-world restaurant at Point Grace Resort serves sophisticated takes on local cuisine in a pretty, outdoor setting dotted with gazebos. Go on Tuesday evenings and listen to live music while you try their coconut conch chowder and grilled snapper.
Indigo
Infiniti
With a gorgeous setting in front of Grace Bay Club and on its stunning beach, Infiniti is helmed by an esteemed chef whose past gigs have taken him all over the world, and most recently, the Bellagio hotel in Las Vegas. Indeed, a refined showmanship is apparent in his food, which elevates typical Caribbean hotel dining. Local, traditional flavors and ingredients are brought a sophisticated flair. Don’t miss the lobster grilled cheese sandwich with fennel and orange slaw.
