Atelier Rondini
The original St.-Tropez sandal shop, which still makes the classic that fashion icons such as Jackie O. and Brigitte Bardot popularized. They make classic styles with pure lines in many kinds of leather, including cow, goat, calf, crocodile and snake. Python is especially popular. You can see the workmen creating the handmade shoes in the back workroom
Byblos Boutique
The Hôtel Byblos takes stocking its gift shop with the same attention to detail and quest for pleasing the glamorous that it does with running its famous nightclub Les Caves du Roy. So if you need to a more dramatic outfit for lounging around the pool than you packed—a Manuel Canovas bathing suit and coordinating accessories or a knock-out dress from Parisian designer Mina Poe—here is where you’ll find it. They carry Vilebrequin suits for men and boys; ladies swimwear by Roland Chaillard and jewelry by Mara Qaretsos.
Cap Horn
This store carries a mix of prestigious labels, including Weston (for shoes) and Gant (for sportswear).
Cécile
Ignore the souvenir shop look of this place and push past the cheap blouses and sarongs. Nothing in here is expensive, but you can find very attractive beaded necklaces and chunky bracelets for summer. Also, good source for gifts.
Gas Bijoux
A must-stop for affordable glitter, this is a trove of hippie-chic jewelry, accessories and silky tunics.
Jardin Secret
This small accessories boutique sells lots of fashion jewelry and trendy bags, but what it’s known for is its collection of classic St.-Tropez straw bags—the kind that St.-Tropez beauties may use to carry while marketing. They come in dozens of sizes from as small as a paperback book (perfect for carrying keys, a wallet and a phone on a summer evening) to big enough to use for your grocery shopping (an eco option, too.) All of the are made of rafia straw as are their great big beach hats. Some of the memorable adornments include little pom-poms and bows.
K. Jacques
Two shops compete for the title of favorite St. Tropez sandal shop. K. Jacques and Atelier Rondini. Both have made the hand-made leather flip-flop shoes, better known as sandals St. Tropéziennes for more than seventy years. K. Jacques was founded in 1933, six years after Rondini.
Kiwi
This brand of bathing suits may not be as well known as another that it resembles, Vilbrequin, but it is a St.-Tropez-based company that sells cheerful beachwear along with accessories at more reasonable prices—and not just for men and boys, but also for women and girls. Tip: You can buy tops and bottoms of bikinis in coordinating patterns but many different styles so you should find a flattering set.
La Chemise Tropezienne
Split into a section for women’s clothes and for men, this boutique store established in the 1960s sells beautiful button-down shirts, perfect as a beach cover-up for women or smart dress shirt for men. While the trademark shirt is the classic white button-down, there is a wide variety of colors, patterns and blends available.
Pain de Sucre
Fantastic bathing suits and lingerie.
Place de Lices Market
St.-Tropez’s famous Place des Lices, shaded by 100-year old plane trees, hosts one of the region’s most charming Provençal markets every Tuesday and Saturday morning. On Tuesday, it’s a classic market with locally made gourmet treats, including lavender honey and jams. On Saturday it has the added bonus of hosting a slew of antiques dealers, though you have to be early for the best finds. In the midst of food stands, you’ll also find stalls of men’s linen shirts in every color and beachy T-shirts and sarongs. Favorite finds include organic soaps, jasmine-scented pouches, beach bags and Turkish towels. The pizza truck also serves delicious Margherita slices.
Tahiti Beach
An insider tip from Indagare’s personal shopper (ask Indagare for an introduction). “This cute shop is located on the Tahiti Beach on the bay of Pampelonne. It serves up fashion shows and adorable handbags, dresses, swimsuits and shoes from Valentino, Roberto Cavalli, Missoni, Leonard, Catherine Malandrino, John Galliano, La Perla and many more…”
Victoire
Come here for original sportswear like creamy soft sweaters, ballerina flats in every shade and jackets and dresses. The shop also offers casual chic menswear.
Vilebrequin
For an authentic native look, these tropical-print bathing suits are a must (the company launched in St.-Tropez in 1970). They also have adorable children’s clothing and limited editions shown in the 28 Rue Gambetta boutique.
