Review

Located in the heart of historic Madrid, just steps away from the Puerta del Sol and the Galería Canalejas, the Four Seasons Hotel Madrid is a seven-years-in-the-making endeavor. The hotel brought together seven ornate buildings, resulting in 200 stunning rooms and suites, many of which are unique in layout. Several are spread across two stories connected by a short staircase, giving the sense of your own personal Madrid apartment. Others have balconies or small terraces perfect for taking in the city views. All accommodations are decorated with Spanish artwork–some restored and others contemporary–and feature sleek light linens and plenty of natural light. The hotel offers many connecting room options to accommodate families as well.

Aside from the property's beauty, both exterior and interior, the service is excellent in true Four Seasons fashion. The friendly staff is attentive from the moment you are greeted at the door and throughout the duration of your stay. Rooms all have bedside iPads that guests can use to chat with the concierge team 24/7 to order room service, schedule spa appointments or book transfers and activities–a feature that you don’t even know you need until it’s at your fingertips.

The hotel offers three restaurants: Dani by celebrity chef Dani García (serving Spanish and Andalusian cuisine), Isa offering Asian inspired tapas and El Patio, the lobby’s bar which serves afternoon tea and comes alive with activity for cocktail hour.

As if you needed any more reason to stay, the spa is a destination in and of itself. The 15,000-square-foot sanctuary offers a serene experience, perfect for curing any level of jet lag before guests set out to explore the beautiful city. Not only is the spa enough to keep you occupied during your entire stay, but you can also reach Hermès and the luxury Food Hall of Galeria Canalejas without stepping outside as there is a direct connection between the hotel and shops of Galeria Canalejas, giving avid shoppers an excuse to stay in.

Who Should Stay

Families, couples or groups looking for sleek accommodations and familiar Four Seasons service just a quick walk from the city’s main attractions. Note: Travelers seeking less tourist activity in the surrounding area might be happier at Rosewood Villa Magna or Santo Mauro, located in the shopping district of Salamanca and not as close to the city’s sites.
