Each piece at this tiny seamstress shop—from shirts and skirts to wedding dresses—is custom made. AUER Chocolatier SA
Beyer Watches and Jewelry
The oldest watch store in Switzerland (it was founded in 1760) offers premium Swiss and international brands and sells watches, antique clocks and exclusive jewelry. The basement houses a museum that holds some 250 exhibits dating from 1400 B.C. to present day.
Boîte à Chocolat
Boît à Chocolat is a small chocolate and ice cream store with a tearoom and bar just down from the train station. They offer a large selection of Swiss chocolate and even stay open in the winter into the evening, serving drinks from the bar.
BONGENIE GRIEDER
Founded in 1891, Bongénie is a Swiss luxury department store carrying home, beauty and designer fashions for women, men and children. There are 15 stores across Switzerland, but the Geneva location is one of the few flagships.
Buure-Metzg
This adorable butchery sells all local meats, fresh and cured and is worth a look, even if you don’t plan on cooking while in Gstaad. It is located just behind the Promenade.
Early Beck
The best spot for chocolate and baked goods has stood in the heart of Gstaad village since 1910. Delectable local specialties include Gstaad nut cake and Pavés de Gstaad.
enSoie
This quirky concept shop displays racks of punchy, printed silk skirts, dresses, eveningwear and accessories fit for a posh Parisian. EnSoie’s scarves have been likened to a younger, cooler version of Hermes’ iconic accessory. The ceiling-high stacks of handmade pottery located downstairs are also worth browsing.
Fraugerold
Frau Gerods Garten is an urban oasis in the heart of trendy Zurich West. This cool hangout has several shops selling local fashion labels and art as well as a vegetable garden and outdoor restaurant and café.
Freitag
The Freitag flagship store is located in the iconic former Maag cogwheel factory in Zurich West. The internationally renowned brand transforms recycled materials, including truck tarpaulins, old safety belts, air bags and bicycle tires into functional, waterproof bags available in a variety of sizes and colors. Regardless of aesthetic preference, shoppers will enjoy a visit to the store for insight into the Swiss obsession with innovation and functionality.

The selection of 150 cheeses from Fromagerie de BLEU! is mouth-wateringly impressive, with a focus on Swiss products but also cheeses from France, Spain and beyond. Purchase a sampling from this store in the Carouge neighborhood for a lakeside picnic or nearby hike.
Fuchs Bakery
Family-owned Fuchs, which has three locations in Zermatt, bakes all of its traditional Swiss breads and pastries on site; perfect for a light lunch on a hike or a breakfast treat while exploring the town and surrounding area.
Globus Genève Grand Magasin
Located on the famous Rue du Rhône, Globus is a luxury department store stocked with designer brands for women, men and children, along with gourmet kitchen supplies, homewares, beauty and more. Plus, visitors can dine onsite at the food hall or grab post-shopping drinks at the cocktail bar.
Guillaume Bichet | Chocolaterie et pâtisserie Genève
Chocolate and pastry chef Guillaume Bhicet’s eponymous shop sells gourmet, artisanal confections that make for excellent gifts. A signature item is the chocolate-covered princess almonds, which are roasted and then caramelized before being dipped in chocolate. Pralines and chocolates in a variety of flavors are also on offer, as are pastry desserts. Guilllaume Bichet is based in nearby Coppet, but has several locations in Geneva.
Hausweberei
Located on the main square in Saanen, this is the best place to shop for locally made handcrafts such as wooden toys, decoupage, and pottery. But the main attraction is the hand woven rugs (“weberei” translates to weaving.) If you ask the salesclerk, you may even be invited to watch the woman working the loom in the back of the store.
Helvetiaplatz-Markt
Early risers are rewarded on Tuesdays and Fridays with a morning walk through this produce market. Brisk air is met with the aromas of fresh fruit, vegetables, seedlings, locally made cheeses and seasonal flowers.

Located across from the Mont Cervin Palace and next to the Alpine Center, Josi Cheese and Wine has a wide array of gourmet products available, which guests can try during their weekly tastings. Stop here for a bottle of wine and cheese to enjoy on your room's terrace overlooking the Matterhorn.

The best selection of short- and long-term ski rentals in town can be found in the basement of Julen Sports store. The store sells some of the most trusted brands, and in the summer, they also carry hiking shoes, tennis racquets and backpacks.

Tip: check out Bach’s discount store on the east end of the Promenade (just before the Louibach river) for 50-70% discounts on Cavalli ski jackets, Chanel fur-lined boots, and the like.
