    3 Days: Essential Savannah

Soak up the delicious food, historic architecture and Southern charm of Savannah, Georgia, with a customized itinerary. Here is just one example of what our destination experts can create for you.

    • Day 1

Get to know Savannah with a walking tour of the Historic District with a guide who focuses on architecture and local legends. Afterwards, lunch at the Olde Pink House or at Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room for great Southern food. Spend the afternoon touring the Telfair’s three museums or the historic houses before you dine at one of the city’s new restaurants, which have given a contemporary twist to regional Southern cuisine. If you are up for a late night, consider a ghost tour or a jazz bar.

    • Day 2

Start at one of the town’s great bakeries, such as Back in the Day, then spend the morning getting a sense for the city’s creative energy by visiting SCAD and exploring the area’s shops, including those in the Design District. Have an early lunch, then enjoy the water by visiting the Bonaventure Cemetery, which has river views, or heading out to one of the barrier islands for a canoe or kayak adventure. Return for dinner at Elizabeth on 37th, and consider an evening of jazz.

    • Day 3

Enjoy your last day here by shopping through town at the best boutiques and sampling more local flavors. In the afternoon, Indagare can arrange a class at Savannah’s premier cooking school, a visit to Daufuskie Island for amazing golf, or a yoga class on Tybee Island beach. You can also go rollerblading through Forsyth Park. Indagare can recommend a variety of special city tours or river cruises, so that you can experience Savannah from a fresh angle before you depart.

“If you’re hungry and in a bit of an adventurous mood, head to longtime local favorite in the industrial part of the city Masada Café. Who could be better at cooking down-home food than a church? The minute you walk through the door, you know you’re going to be well-fed.”

“In addition to the youthful energy, the old-fashioned destination offers lovely shopping (especially interior design stores). There is also excellent Low Country cuisine that highlights the bounty of Savannah’s nearby farms and coastal catches. If you can, arrange a visit to a plantation.”
