Review
The first impression of this restored historic building-turned-hotel is elegant luxury, with details synonymous to the Bulgari brand of exquisite jewels. The property has 114 rooms, including 48 suites, across seven categories. The spacious accommodations are decorated in jewel tones—sapphires, emeralds and golds—and accented with rich chocolate leather seating, balanced with lighter wood walls and colored marble and mosaic tile flooring in the bathrooms. The standout is the 300-square-meter Bulgari Suite, complete with kitchen, bar and dining area (plus, a spectacular, enormous bathroom).
Guests will find six food and beverage options on property worth exploring before leaving the front door. The ground floor Il Caffe has both indoor and outdoor seating, serving authentic Italian fare for breakfast, lunch and dinner (and the requisite Aperol spritz), while Il Ristorante from Chef Niko Romito serves fine-dining Italian on the fifth floor for lunch and dinner daily (with impressive views over the monumental tomb of Emperor Augustus). Grab bubbles at the Champagne Bar, cocktails at Bulgari Bar or a drink for each hand in one of the lush-encapsulated cabanas on the rooftop La Terrazza. Guests with a serious sweet tooth will love Bulgari Dolci, the gold-leaf mosaic jewel box serving signature Bulgari chocolates and speciality Italian confections.
In the tradition of grand Roman baths, the pool is the centerpiece to the Bulgari Spa—relax amongst marble pillars, mosaics and statues in your own piece of the Roman Empire (the design is an homage to the Baths of Caracalla). The Bulgari Spa offers a full treatment menu designed by Augustinus Bader and a small hair salon is available for hotel guests only. Use the fitness center at leisure or book a private session with Workshop Gymnasium trainers.
