Review
Located in a yellow chalet in the town’s center, the Posta (so called because it was once a post office) has been a Cortina institution since 1835. With its dark wood-paneled bar and somber common spaces, the Posta feels like a gentlemen’s club of the past. (Fittingly, one of the hotel’s most illustrious former guests was Ernest Hemingway, who stayed in the 1930s.) Some of the seventy-six rooms are small, but the coziness is appropriate for a ski chalet; plus, those with balconies have cinematic views. Be sure to reserve well in advance: the Posta fills up quickly.
Who Should Stay
Those craving old-world sophistication and a central location will be happy at the hotel; however, anyone needing five-star amenities or services will be better off at the Rosa Alpina or Cristallo**.**
