Review

At Les Roches Rouges, guests instantly feel a connection with the sea and surrounding natural environment. Floor-to-ceiling windows in the lobby overlook the Mediterranean, and rooms purposefully lack televisions to encourage interaction between guests.

Inside, the hotel is designed with a charming 50s modernist aesthetic, centered around an air of understated luxury and simplicity. The hotel is open, airy and bright, and has places to lounge at every corner, giving it a very laid back, comfortable feel. As you walk around the hotel, you will find yourself wanting to discover new nooks in which to curl up, relax and pick up a book.

With no TVs in the rooms, you are encouraged to take a detox from reality; you come here to truly luxuriate. It’s also worth noting that all rooms and suites have open bathrooms, which might not be for everyone.

The stars of the show at Les Roches, though, are the hotel’s two pools sitting right beside the sea. The natural seawater pool (not heated and built right into the coastal rocks) is absolutely stunning. The other is a heated lap pool. Additionally, Les Roches Rouges does have direct access to the sea, although the beach is rocky. There is a small area with lounge chairs along the shore, and next to the seawater pool, you can find a ladder to jump right into the Mediterranean. The hotel also has a spa with four treatment rooms and two main restaurants, an all-day restaurant and La Terrasse, which serves elevated Provençal cuisine and seafood.

From its own Pétanque court, to nearby hikes and water activities, there is a lot to do right on the property, as the hotel is a short drive away from the main towns and villages along the coast.
