Smoke Tree BBQ Bar & Grill

Like Babe’s, Smoke Tree focuses on barbecue, but here, diners are given the option to grill their own. The dining room of this not-quite-casual BBQ joint contains a few open range grills, ready and waiting for all sorts of ribs, brisket, pork, steak and more.

Most of the meal options come pre-cooked (the grills are actually leftover from a concept restaurant that the property originally launched with, then swiftly moved away from), and most are good enough that you shouldn’t want to bother cooking your own. The baby back ribs in particular are a highlight of the menu, and the mesquite-smoked dishes all pair well with the huge selection of mezcal. However, it’s nice to have the option, and the gimmick works well in a place that would still be a standout without it.
